Cobra Kai Season 6 Tory Dad

Cobra Kai Gives Fans a Glimpse of Miguel's Father

Heald Explains Tory's Mother's Death

Spoiler Alert for Season 6 Part 1

The first part of Cobra Kai season 6 has given fans a glimpse of Miguel's father, something that has been highly anticipated since the show's inception. In a recent interview, showrunner John Heald explained why it was decided that Tory's mother would die at the end of season 5.

Thirty-four years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, a down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) seeks redemption by reopening the Cobra Kai karate dojo. He soon finds himself mentoring a new generation of fighters, including Miguel Diaz (Xolo Mariduena), who is desperate to find his own father.

In season 6, Miguel's search for his father takes him to Mexico, where he meets his father's brother, Hector (Luis Roberto Guzmán). Hector is a successful businessman who is initially reluctant to accept Miguel as his nephew, but he eventually comes to care for him.

Meanwhile, Tory Nichols (Peyton List) is struggling to cope with the death of her mother, who was killed in a car accident at the end of season 5. Tory's grief and anger lead her to make some reckless decisions, including rejoining Cobra Kai.

Heald said that the decision to kill off Tory's mother was a difficult one, but it was necessary to move the story forward.

"We wanted to explore the theme of loss and how it affects people," Heald said. "Tory is a very strong character, but she's also very vulnerable. We wanted to see how she would handle the loss of her mother, and we thought it would be a powerful story."

The first part of Cobra Kai season 6 is now streaming on Netflix. The second part will be released on December 31.
